LAKE CITY, S.C. (April 30, 2024) – A Lake City man has been arrested and charged with a dozen crimes stemming from an incident that happened in the early hours of April 24. The U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended Etheran Tierral Manigault, 27, April 29, with assistance from the S.C. Law Enforcement Division and a K-9 officer.
Manigault is charged with:
- Two counts of attempted murder
- Two counts of kidnapping
- Armed robbery with a deadly weapon
- Two counts of pointing and presenting firearms at a person
- Two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime
- First degree burglary
- Petit larceny of $2,000 or less
- Malicious injury to personal property valued at $2,000 or less
Lake City Police Department investigators responded to the April 24 incident shortly after midnight. They identified Manigault, who had already fled the scene, as the suspect in the alleged kidnapping and attempted murder of two individuals.
The Lake City Police Department obtained charging documents and has an officer assigned to the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force. The department, per standard procedure when arresting potentially violent suspects, then reached out to the U.S. Marshals for assistance in serving the felony arrest warrants.
Manigault is currently detained at the Florence County Detention Center in Florence with no bond on all but two charges. The remaining charges each carry a $2,125 surety bond.
