On Thursday at approximately 10:30 p.m. Lake City police officers responded to a reported shooting incident on Simmons Street in Lake City. Two individuals involved in the incident were transported by Florence County Emergency Medical Services to local hospitals with what law enforcement believed to be life threatening injuries.
One individual is confirmed deceased. Family has been notified. We will not be releasing any names at this time.
There is no indication of a threat to the public and preliminary reports are that this incident is domestic/family related.
