  • Census reports
  • Churches
  • Local government
  • Other sources
  • Schools

Sponsor

The LLHS helps to sponsor many prominent, history-related events throughout the year, including the state History Day competition for South Carolina primary and secondary students.

Lies & Legends Tour

Society personnel also guide the Lies and Legends Tour through downtown Lake City, starting in April. View our calendar for the current schedule for the Lies and Legends tour.

Please email the society if you have any questions or require special accommodations. Tours will meet at the Bean Market located at 111 Henry Street prior to embarking.

Francis Marion

In addition, the Lynches Lake Historical Society is conducting inquiries into the men under Francis Marion's command. General Marion oversaw 3,500 men during the Revolutionary War, including local Lynches Lake residents, and the LLHS seeks to learn more about these local heroes and their histories.
